Elevator Damage Assessment

Floods, fires and other accidents can cause damage to elevator systems. Elevator damage assessments completed by BTA consist of on-site evaluations by an experienced elevator consultant, recommendations for repair work, and budget and time estimates. BTA will complete a site visit, generate a comprehensive report describing the damage, and provide an evaluation of repair proposals developed by third party service providers.

Projects:
Our most recent projects include consulting for clients impacted by Hurricane Ivan (2004), Hurricane Katrina (2005), tornadoes in Atlanta (2008), and Hurricane Ike (2008). During these projects, BTA performed evaluations on hundreds of elevators and escalators. Our evaluations included damage cost estimates, repair proposal generation, and third party proposal reviews.

Georgia World Congress Center (Atlanta, Georgia)
BTA was brought in to perform damage assessment resulting from a tornado in Downtown Atlanta in 2008. The site has over 100 elevator and escalator units. Our client, a consulting firm representing the insurance company, was saved over $250,000 as a result of BTA’s involvement.
